Obituary for Donald Ray Denney

Donald Ray Denney, 64, of Crab Orchard, passed away on Sunday, December 23rd, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. He was the husband of Doris Ann (Carroll) Denney whom he married on September 6, 2003. Donald was born in Lexington on March 16, 1954 to the late Othmer D. and Doris Jane (Bailey) Denney. He retired as a Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp after 20 years of service. Donald worked an additional 21 years as a civilian for the Marine Corp at Cherry Point in Havlock, North Carolina. He was an animal lover having three fur babies of his own, Wile, Moogie and Arnie. Donald was an avid NASCAR fan especially in the Dale Earnhardt days. He was mechanically inclined and loved his Corvette. Donald was a storyteller and a jokester at best. He will be missed by many, and will be remembered with his famous phone greeting always saying "Hey this is me, is that you?"

Survivors Include His wife of 15 years, Doris Ann Denney; His Three Children, Audrey & Christopher Denney and Amanda West; Sister, Jean and husband Chris Jaeger; Six Grandchildren, Porter Rhoden, Nealie West, Whitley & Wesley Key, Cassidy & Joshua Bright; and Two Great Grandchildren, Delanie & Oakley Neal

Friends and family are welcome to join a celebration of his life at 610 Elm St. Crab Orchard on Saturday December 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
