Obituary for Mattie Stanley Gover

Mattie (Stanley) Gover, 86, of Crab Orchard, passed away Wednesday, October 25th, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was the widow Jimmie Tolbert Gover who preceded her in death on September 7, 2007. Mattie was born in Crab Orchard on November 19, 1930, a daughter of the late James Crawford and Minnie Belle (Miller) Stanley. She was a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church and she loved baking. Mattie retired as a Quality Control Inspector for American Greetings.

Survivors Include her Son, James Gover and his Wife Judy of Crab Orchard; Grandson, Grant Gover and Wife Michelle of Louisville; Nephew, David Daley and Wife Connie of Cincinnati

In addition to her parents and husband Mattie was preceded in death by a Sister, Ruth Daley and a Brother, J.C. Stanley

Pallbearers Include: Bobby Turpin, Frankie Nunn, Donald Neal, Larry Adams, Jack McCall and David Daley

Honorary Pallbearers: Todd Kirkpatrick, Fred Simpson, Eddie Allen and Nelson Shelton

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Monday, October 30th at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Place of Burial will be in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM on Sunday, October 29th at McKnight Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
