Obituary for George A. Thompson, Jr.

George A. Thompson, Jr., 55, of Crab Orchard passed away Tuesday, August 1st, at his home.
George was born in Stanford, KY on May 27, 1962. He was the son of the late George, Sr. and Sue (Swinney) Thompson. He was a member of the Watts Chapel Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Military having served in both The United States Air Force and The United States Army. George was very involved in veterans affairs and worked along with others in the community to establish the Crab Orchard Veterans Park. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014 after 20 years of service.

Survivors Include his Daughter, Kayla Thompson of Crab Orchard; Brother, Mitchell Thompson of Lexington; Sister, Janet & Husband Victor Haste of Bethel Ridge; & Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Many Friends also survive

Funeral Service 2 PM, Friday, August 4, 2017 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel
with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Place of Burial will be in the Ottawa Cemetery.

The Caswell Saufley American Legion Post # 18 of Stanford will serve as pallbearers and perform military honors.

Visitation will be after 6 PM, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at McKnight Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
