Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. and Betty J. Martin opened Martin Funeral Home in Crab Orchard, Kentucky in July of 1979. Robert better known as Bobby began his career with Howard Funeral Home formerly in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, in 1949. He was an assistant Funeral Director under Maurice and Carolyn Howard for many years.
Bobby was a Graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1976, thus paving the way for his opening of Martin Funeral Home, in 1979. He operated the Funeral Home until he sold it to Kyle and Rhonda G. Miller McKnight on March 15, 1994. It then became known as McKnight Martin Funeral Home.
The main reason he allowed Kyle and Rhonda McKnight to purchase the funeral home because that would allow the funeral home to continue being family owned and operated which delivers more affordable funeral options with the most compassion and professionalism.
Kyle is a graduate of Mid America College of Funeral Service and has been a Kentucky State and National Board Certified Embalmer and Funeral Director since June of 1992.
